3.What kind of propulsion does it have?
The boat is powered by two 825 horsepower MTU Detroit Diesel engines driving waterjets.

The joystick-controlled steering and throttle give the boat superior responsiveness to the helmsman. Its Deep Vee, Double Chine hull strikes a balance between high performance and stability.
5.How does it handle in rough seas?
The RB-M is mission capable in winds up to 30 knots and waves as high as eight feet and mission survivable in winds up to 50 knots and waves up to 12 feet high. It also has self-righting capability to enhance crew safety.
6.Is it easy to maintain?
The logistics system is being integrated into the Coast Guard's logistics transformation initiative. Innovations like interactive electronic technical manuals take advantage of the latest computer and Internet technologies to make maintenance more efficient. 7.How noisy is the RB-M?
The RB-M meets American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards for hearing safety.
8.How can I get one of the retired 41 UTB's?
Disposal of excess Government property is governed by a very strict
process that ensures the property is put to the best possible use and the
Government is fairly compensated for it. No one in the Coast Guard, at any
level, can promise or arrange for disposal of a boat without going through
this process. All requests for retired 41 UTB's (or any other Coast Guard
vessel) shall be directed to:
